The Sweet Kuzhi Paniayaram
Batter Preparation:
- It’s the same method as that for Savory Kuzhipaniyaram. Refer to ‘Batter Preparation’ of Savory Kuzhi Paniyaram for the method, but exercise caution on two fronts,
- When adding salt, don’t add a lot, because this is the sweet version. Just add a pinch.
- Also, make sure that the consistency isn’t too runny, as we have to add jaggery water to the batter at the time of cooking, which would further dilute it.
Ingredients:
- 2 cups Batter.
- 1/2 cup Jaggery Powder (or as per your taste).
- 4 tbsp Grated Coconut.
- 1/2 tsp Cardamom Powder or 2-3 crushed Cardamom.
Instructions:
- Before you start the actual cooking process, sweeten the batter with a touch of jaggery syrup.
- Jaggery Syrup Preparation: Dissolve 1/2 cup of jaggery in 1/4 cup of hot water, and filter the water out. This needs to be added to the batter.
- Also, add a pinch of cardamom powder (or crushed cardamoms) at this stage for the aroma, and grated coconut for texture and flavor.
- Pour the sweetened batter into the paniyaram molds, ensuring an even distribution.
- Cook the paniyarams by flipping both sides until they achieve a rich, dark golden color. This ensures a perfect balance of crispiness on the outside and a soft, sweet center.
- Once cooked to perfection, your Sweet Paniyarams are ready to be enjoyed. 💃
